Cambridge Art Coursework
Rewinding a few years to the origin of working in 3D, I wanted to share one sculpture piece which I worked on for my Cambridge coursework. I worked for a year on a series of sculpture pieces (x10) which all fell under the theme Balance and Control. The series included life size human cello-tape sculptures, paper mache ceremonial characters from Zambia, mixed media sculptures, virtual reality etc. I explored ideas of identity as I was navigating living abroad, working out the normal problems of adolescence, and suffering through an illness which kept me out of school for many months.
TOPO TABLE
The artwork (featured below) is just one sculpture from this coursework series. It is a mixed media piece with layers of painted plywood cut to resemble the topography of a lake from my childhood adventures in America, a glass top and a wire sculpture which represented the tangled emotions and complexity of being a teenager striving to understand the world around me.
